“Casey Anthony’s twisted life in hiding,” The National Enquirer screams.
Casey had made the tabloid’s cover again. The story details her “bizarre, twisted life in hiding” through interviews with friends.
These are her friends?
They tell of Casey’s X-rated online chats, her stir-crazy life in a preacher’s home, her imaginary romance with a man named Steven, her hopes to have twins and her recent false alarm about being pregnant.
But the most interesting portions focus on Casey’s fixation on dead daughter Caylee.
She keeps a candlelit shrine to her daughter and a picture of Caylee in the arms of Jesus, The Enquirer reports.
Anthony is getting professional help but hasn’t admitted any role in her daughter’s death, The Enquirer reports.
The tabloid quotes an Anthony friend: “Casey is the most self-centered, egotistical creature I have ever known. Everything she says is all about her – about how sad and lonely she is.”

It's not over yet for Dr. G and Casey
Dr. G is taping a TLC special on the Anthony case that will premiere Jan. 1. As of now it will be titled: "The True Story of Caylee Anthony." "It's more about my take on the science I was involved in," she says. She said that the decision to classify Caylee's death a homicide was the "only logical conclusion … the circumstances of death did not fit anything but a homicide." She mentions the delay in reporting the child's disappearance, the body's disposal in a swampy area and the duct tape with the remains.
Baez' thoughts? "Dr. G needs a TV special to explain her science because her testimony was not based on science. All three reasons she used to give her 'opinion' that it was a homicide did not require any medical training whatsoever. That is why the jury rejected it."The program also interviews forensic anthropologist John Schultz of the University of Central Florida, forensic anthropologist Mike Warren of the University of Florida and toxicologist Bruce Goldberger of the University of Florida.
One topic involved in the show? Should Caylee's skull should have been opened? Anthropologists thought it wasn't necessary, and she agreed. This was VERY controversial during the trial.

Casey's deposition video will be coming soon!
Casey Anthony's 45-minute videotaped deposition may be public this week through the Orange County Court Clerk's office. She plead the fifth through most questions. Morgan & Morgan have stated that will challenge this, since they believe she had no basis to plead the fifth. They intend to file the videotaped deposition with the court to request a hearing. If they prevail, Casey will have to answer the questions. In the video deposition, Casey mentioned that she hasn't spoken to George or Cindy since October 14, 2008. This was when she was indicted and arrested for murder.
In the video, there was a white screen behind Casey and she was wearing a Phillies cap, oversized Dolce & Gabbana glasses, and a white V-necked top.Morgan said that it appeared she was wearing a wig and that she appeared to have more color on her face. Not the dull grey we are used to seeing.
The deposition was between John Morgan, his son Matt, and attorney John Dill. Zenaida was not present. Casey was with her lawyer Charles Greene and an associate of Greene's.
Greene invoked Casey's 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination to almost every question posed. The questions included inquiries into the disappearance of Caylee, her connection to Sawgrass apartments and Zenaida Gonzalez. Hmmm....that doesn't make her seem guilty or suspicious at all.......Hmph!

Cindy and George Part 2
So as I'm watching this interview, one question keeps bothering me. Where exactly did they film this interview? I couldn't find any information of where this took place. That def. is not their home! I can assure you that! Anyhoo, let's get onto this interview thing.
The Anthony's: The Revelations
Regarding the seizures, Casey's attorneys told Cindy not to mention anything about Casey's seizures and health history.
George: People do things because they feel a rush of adrenaline. Agrees with Dr. Phil that people don't always do things because they have brain tumors or suffer from seizures.
Cindy bites her tongue as Dr. Phil tells her that people out there would like to shake her awake.
Cindy: George didn't change overnight, neither did Casey. She says something happened that day (June 16) to change Casey's behavior.
Dr. Phil says George didn't have a tumor when he gambled away the money.
Finding the remains
George: It was rough knowing where she was and knowing she was so close.
Cindy: It was difficult to comprehend. They had only 10 min to tell family members before they found out through the media.
George: "I couldn't deal with the loss of Caylee." He said it was tough seeing Cindy and Lee's faces through that time.
As they read the suicide note from George, they both tear up.
George: " Why didn't I stay home from work that day?" He says he ended the letter with just "Casey-", because he believes she had something to do with Caylee's death. He has nothing more to say to her. He says it's obvious Casey had something to do with it. "She deceived us. She lied to us, her parents." he can't comprehend how Casey along with possibly anyone else could do that to Caylee.
George Alone
On the affair:
-Did not have an affair. No sexual relations.
-"She probably wanted more out of the relationship, But I never went in that direction."
-Never had the "snowballed out of control" conversation.
-Believes his reputation has been tainted to a degree, but says he had nothing to hide.
-Thinks it was a smear campaign against him.
-Doesn't understand why they attacked him.
listens to jury foreman describing him about being suspicious.
-When asked yes or no questions, he says one may come out suspicious or sound like they have selective memory.
-Says if he was involved in this, why wasn't he prosecuted.
-"If Casey watches this someday, I believe she is responsible."
-He believes she was there at the woods with someone's help.
-Starts crying and says that the way Caylee died and was treated is no way to treat a human being.
-Can't comprehend his daughter doing these things to his granddaughter. All he can see is "Caylee dancing through the hallway in the mornings and making his life beautiful."
-If she drowned, there's no reason to tie her up and put her in laundry bags.
George and Cindy together again
Cindy believes Caylee drowned accidentally. She doesn't believe the circumstances surrounding the drowning, where George found Caylee.
George "can't do in that direction". He doesn't understand how she drowns and ends up in the woods down the street.
George says inside of his heart, he believes Casey and someone else gave Caylee too much drugs and she fell asleep. Believes she was in the back of the car being driven around and taken to the woods. "She sedated this child to go out and have this life she couldn't have with Caylee around."
Cindy: Casey's friends never said she was involved with drugs. Toxicology doesn't prove that Caylee was drugged.
At this moment Cindy says she has never heard that theory and they go back and forth amongst themselves. George says he's mentioned it to Cindy and she argues that he hasn't, but that she's happy that he's getting it out of his system, because she thought that the emotions held inside would end up killing him.
Honestly if George didn't cheat on Cindy, well then Bravo for him, becasue I know I would cheat on that beast.
Anyhoo... Cindy says she is angry that Casey never came to her to tell her what happened.
The Woods
George: It's a question that he's asked himself many times.
Cindy believes that Casey used the shovel to cut a bamboo root. The car was never moved. Ahe never left the house. Unless she walked.
George: Neighbor didn't watch her the whole time. He was doing other chores.
Cindy believes Casey had knowledge or had something to do with placing the body there. Casey and Cindy believe once the person dies, the body is empty.
Cindy says there's no excuse for putting Caylee there in the woods, BUT " what else were we going to do? Our belief is cremation." WHAT!!!!?????
Dr. Phil says he gets being loyal to the children but it's disloyal to Caylee.
Cindy says she would love to hug her granddaughter "the shell of her body" again.
Says that when the verdict was NOT GUILTY, Caylee was given justice. That was God's sign that the death was accidental. Caylee wouldn't want her mother to be in jail because of her death.
Says something IS wrong with her daughter.
Part 3 includes their plan if Casey shows up at their porch. What does George think about the verdict?
Part 3 airs on Monday's Dr. Phil.
Cindy says she is angry that Casey

George and Cindy: BACK ON TV!
George and Cindy Anthony will appear on the season premier of the Dr. Phil Show Sept. 12.
In a release, the show said: “Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family,” says Dr. Phil. “Have these attacks been warranted, or not? I looked them straight in the eye and asked some very tough questions. Despite living under a ‘media microscope’ for years, THEIR story has never really been told and there’s so much more to it than we’ve heard in the media. Throughout this extensive interview, we explore every detail of their ordeal, and they answer every question I know will be on our viewers' minds. Nothing is off limits during this interview."
Cindy Anthony said, “We knew that we’d want to speak at some point, and we figured there was no better place than with Dr. Phil. We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own. We certainly don’t want anyone to experience what we have these last three years.” George Anthony continues, “We appreciate the way in which Dr. Phil has helped others, and we trust him enough to completely open our hearts in telling our story. He is a professional that understands the uniqueness of our family situation. There’s no one better to do this interview than Dr. Phil. We knew he would ask the difficult questions, and we were right.”
The Anthonys sought no compensation for their interview, asking only that a donation be made to a charitable organization currently being formed to honor their granddaughter. The couple will derive no income from “Caylee’s Fund,” which will be federally sanctioned intending to focus on promoting processes to educate the public about - and advocate for - grandparents’ rights, as well as missing and abused children by maximizing the use of public interactivity to increase efficiency and knowledge.

Happy 6th Birthday Caylee!
Today it is rainy and stormy in Central Florida. Much like it had been during the length of the Casey Anthony trail and the way it was the day that Casey was found Not Guilty. Today Caylee Marie Anthony turned 6 years old. She would have been entering the first grade in a couple of weeks.
This is the first time that Casey will not be in jail during Caylee's birthday and not "searching" for her as well. Supposedly now she is in a $5.2 million mansion in California hiding out at the moment. Guess she left Ohio since the pics were released. I'm wondering whether we will see a citing of her or the Anthony's today. Any photo ops? Today in Central Florida we will also be seeing the unveiling of the plans for Caylee and for missing children that is planning on being built in the location where Caylee's remains were found.
Candles will be lit for Caylee tonight in memory of her as well as the changing of profile pics today on Facebook.
We wish you a Happy 6th Birthday Caylee Marie. May you rest in peace.
The following is a poem that I found online that was written for Caylee last year on her fifth birthday:
Happy Birthday angel eyes.
the candles of your cake are the stars in the skies.
you should have been getting ready to start in school.
instead of your family trying to play us for fools.
learning to write and ride a bike.
what else would you have liked?
not a day goes by when we don't all think
of how you were gone in just a blink.
what would have been better for us to see.
is for you to have won the national spelling bee.
so have fun in the clouds on your special day.
and let your spirit find us justice for you one day.

Casey Anthony = Susan Smith?
Susan Smith (South Carolina) was sentenced to life in prison for murdering her two sons, 3-year-old Michael Daniel Smith, born October 10, 1991, and 14-month-old Alexander Tyler Smith, born August 5, 1993. She was convicted on July 22, 1995
Casey Anthony (Orlando, Florida) was charged with killing her 2.5 year old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony with chloroform and duct tape. She was found Not Guilty on July 5, 2011.
Smith's case gained worldwide attention shortly after it developed, due to Smith claiming that a black man stole her car and kidnapped her sons. Smith later claimed that she suffered from mental health issues that impaired her judgment.
Anthony's case gained worldwide attention shortly after it developed, due to Casey lying about Caylee being with a nanny named Zanaida Gonzalez Fernandez and not reporting Caylee missing for 31 days while she went clubbing and shopping. She later claimed Zanny had kidnapped Caylee. Then in court claimed that Caylee had drowned in the family pool. Casey blamed sexual abuse and a BIZARRE family life impairing the way she would react to her daughter's death.
On October 25, 1994, Smith initially reported to police that she had been carjacked by a black man who drove away with her sons still in the car. Smith made tearful pleas on television for the rescue and return of her children.
On July 15, 2008 31 days after Caylee was last seen, Casey was confronted by her mother, Cindy Anthony, and reported to police that the nanny took Caylee against her will and that she decided to look for Caylee through other means which she herself claimed was "a stupid thing to do" Searches were immediately started to find Caylee and Zanny.
It later emerged that investigators had been suspicious of Smith's story from the beginning and believed she had killed her own children. From the second day of the investigation, the authorities suspected that Smith knew where the children were.
In the Case of Casey Anthony, from the second day they spent with Casey, investigators knew she had been lying when she took them to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and claimed to work there. Apparently she had been telling her whole family she had been working there for a few years and finally confessing to authorities she wasn't working there. There was also a scent of decomposition emanating from her whole car. At this point, law enforcement knew she was lying.
Lakes and ponds began being searched, even the nearby lake in which the children were eventually found. The reason for not finding the children earlier is that the authorities thought the car could have traveled out only about thirty feet and that was the extent of the search.
The areas near the Anthony home were searched and a meter reader, Roy Kronk, found Caylee's remains less than a minute 10 sec drive from the Anthony family home in a wooded area. The reason why the body had not been found earlier was because the area had been flooded.
It was disclosed in her trial that Smith was molested in her teens by her stepfather, who admitted that he had molested Smith when she was a teenager and had consensual sex with her as an adult.
Casey claimed to have been molested by her father, George Anthony and her brother, Lee Anthony and her defense used this as an excuse for her actions and not thinking straight when she knew her daughter was dead. Though this was never proved.
Smith's alleged motive for the deaths — to dispose of her children so that she might have a relationship with a wealthy local man who had no interest in a "ready-made" family
Anthony's alleged motive for Caylee's death-to be free to date her many boyfriends and party with out worrying about Caylee and who was going to babysit her.
What's strange about these two beasts is that they don't seem to care that what they did was wrong. They seem to be in their own world as if they had the right to continue their lives and steal the lives of these beautiful children. They both seemed to be caring mothers who turned out to be cruel, lying, manipulative monsters who would hurt anyone in their family with no remorse or guilt, for the simple reason of their freedom.

Coincidence?
So we have been having sever storms over here in Central Florida and yup Lightning struck Suburban Drive!
As severe weather passed through on Thursday afternoon, a pine tree near a memorial site for Caylee Marie was damaged by a bolt of lightning. The strike left two 5-foot burn marks down the side of the tree.
The tree is about 5 feet off the pavement on Suburban Drive and the memorial is another 10 to 15 feet beyond that and down into the woods. A short trail which leads down into the woods to the memorial site is essentially at the foot of the tree.
Aside from the weather, the Anthony neighborhood was quiet Thursday with a few people bringing flowers and toys to the memorial for Caylee in the swampy spot where her remains were found.
The memorial, has quadrupled in size since Tuesday's verdict. Hundreds of teddy bears and stuffed animals were piled on the dirt, with hand-written notes. More than two dozen flower bouquets sit there and 27 helium balloons are anchored to the ground.
George Anthony has asked the public to donate the items to charity rather than place them in the woods.

Caylee's dad may have been found!
Watching Nancy Grace tonight and SURPRISE! Caylee's dad may have been found! His name was Michael Duggan and he looks like Lee!
Rutland, Massachusetts resident Donna MacLean claims her son, Michael Duggan, is the biological father of Caylee.
Donna says that Michael confided to her that he fathered a child with Casey Anthony. He even mentioned Casey's parents names as well as Lee and that George was an ex-law enforcement official. He had a close connection to Orlando, because he had some family members that lived in the area.
She learned this just weeks before Duggan died in a car crash in Falmouth back in 2007, when Casey said Caylee's dad died.
Casey Anthony had told family and friends Caylee's father had died in a car accident and Casey’s parents repeated the fact under oath during her criminal trial.
An Anthony family attorney is refusing to relay any comment from the Anthony’s on this matter and officials are refusing to do a grandparent DNA test.
Donna is willing to take a lie detector test as well!

Day 31 of the trial! Defense might rest!
June 15, 2008: Caylee visits her great-grandfather at an assisted living facility. A video is later produced in an attempt to verify the sighting. Cindy and Caylee allegedly go swimming in the Anthony's pool. Afterwards, Cindy takes the ladder away from the pool and closes the gate.June 15, 2011:The prosecution rests its case against Casey
June 16, 2008:Last sighting/death of Caylee Anthony
June 16, 2011:On the third anniversary of Caylee's death, Jose Baez questions his first witnesses.July15, 2008: 31 days since Caylee was last seen alive. Cindy calls and tells 911 dispatcher: "There is something wrong. I found my daughter's car today [and] it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car."
June 29, 2011: 31 days since the Casey Anthony trial, not including Jury selection, started. Defense might rest its case today.
WOW! What a bunch of coincidences!
The court today started with Judge Perry listening to Ann Finnell through the phone regarding the motion for mistrial due to a South Florida ruling stating the death penalty is unconstitutional. Mason was 11 minutes late to this and Baez missed the whole thing:
Ann Finnell said she will rest on her memorandum and case law she submitted. Judge asked if she's talked to Casey and whether she concurs. Finnell said she hasn't, but she thinks other counsel has or can. Judge informed her no other counsel present. Casey speaks for herself, tells judge that she agrees with Finnell. Ashton said that this is not a final opinion because it's going to another court for review. He said even if affirmed on appeal, ruling applies only to that defendant in his own particular case. Judge Perry will reserve ruling on this motion til later date.
Cindy Anthony
(looks at Casey, Casey looked down. She even repeated the word "so help me God" after completing the oath, instead of saying yes or no like normal)
JB: Recall incident of Lee going into Casey's room at night? CA: No. JB: Ever have to deal with an issue-- Objection/sidebar. *personal note-remember what I said about people who wear purple! She's wearing purple again!*
JB: Do you recall saying 6 mos ago you still believed Caylee was alive? Yes. Being truthful about that? Yes. Cindy Anthony held memorial for Caylee in Feb. 2009
JB: You requested Caylee's remains be cremated? Yes. JB:Two yrs later you still held belief that Caylee was alive, despite that? Burdick Objection / sustained.
*Could defense be saying that Cindy was in denial after knowing Caylee drowned*
JB: Your ability to block all that out part of your faith? Obj/sustained. Cindy Anthony remembers videotape explaining that George Anthony had blown up at media due to someone saying that Caylee drowned. JB: You expressed drowning was new theory? CA: It wasn't new theory, it was media's statement regarding that. Clarified that the possibility of drowning was spoken about with LE. Casey told her parents she was aware her dad had blown up in the media. JB: Wasn't true because it had just happened, hadn't it? CA: I don't know, she could have heard it from someone in jail. Baez asked Cindy if she knew there were no tv's in cells at the jail. She said she knew.
Cross Examination
Cindy told Casey the media's new theory was Caylee drowned. State said Casey said "surprise surprise" right? CA: Yes. Cindy said media was screaming at them and throwing out theories. She thought at the time Caylee was alive & missing. Baez said that "Surprise, Surprise" was in regards to the media speculating things.
George Anthony
Baez asked about one of George's statements, shown page to review. Baez asks George how he knew Caylee would be found in woods. George said Baez is taking 2008 statement out of context. GA: That was in context of my LE experience and decomposing bodies, not in relation to Caylee. Ashton objects, Perry sustains. Told police that in Ohio, as LE, he smelled decomposition in woods, car, and houses before. George confirms he walked fence area on Suburban Drive. Said he walked a bunch of streets in Orlando during search. Said he needed to clear his mind. Baez trying to ask if he walked past remains area or "other wooded area" in Orlando. George says yes, in Oct. while looking for a new command center. George says it was off the road-but Baez says it was "in the woods." JB: First night LE at your home, pulled Melich aside and told him about car? GA: Not first night, 16th, told him about it then. George says he demanded answers from Det. Melich to help find granddaughter. Says that no matter how Baez is spinning things, he had the right as a father and grandfather to ask what was going on. Perry cut him off. Said he was hysterical the day Caylee reported missing. GA: For you to say I was doing something wrong. You're wrong JB: Did you pull Melich aside as leaving and told him something had happened to Caylee and Casey lying? GA: Of course something happened to Caylee..she was missing. Casey was last person I saw with her. I put 1 + 1 Casey shaking her head and writing lots of notes during testimony. George says he may have said his daughter lives on the edge. George said he is 100% positive he smelled human decomp. JB: Tell LE Casey lives on the edge? GA: Possibly, I don't remember, but my daughter does have tendency to live on the edge. George says he may have said negative things about his daughter. He says he was cooperating with LE to find Caylee. Baez asks if George was undercover (for law enforcement) George says he tried to keep Casey upbeat in jail visits. JB: Didn't say any of those negative things to her at jail? GA: No, was trying to keep her upbeat, get answers about Caylee. JB: You knew she wanted out of jail? GA: Yes. JB: Couldn't make bond because you wouldn't put up the house? Objection/sustained. Sidebar after Baez asks George is he testified against Casey before grand jury. (George trembling and crying as he looks at Casey. She ignore his looks)
Baez reads statement in depo. where George said he smelled decomp but that it wasn't human decomp. Ashton stops him and tells him to read COMPLETE answer. Baez tries to tell Judge to tell Ashton to let him conduct his questioning. (BACKFIRE) Judge tells him to read EVERYTHING. Baez reads and looks defeated like a punished child. Baez: "Explanation you gave during your deposition was clearly that it was trash."When George says there is a difference between garbage and trash Casey leans head on hand. GA: "You're trying to take this joy of my life away from me sir and you can't do it anymore. I can close my eyes at the moment and smell that again. How dare you sir" George tells Baez he started car, went home with Cindy. Casey shakes head no while hiding head in hands. GA: "My emotions were all over the place." George says he didn't want to believe then his daughter could be responsible for taking life of granddaughter. Baez asks George about suicide attempt. GA: "Yes sir I did" (try to commit suicide). Baez asks George about suicide note: "you expressed some guilt, didn't you?" George was hospitalized. Baez asks if he made media appearances week later. GA cannot remember. Casey looks FURIOUS! JB: Go on media outlets and advocate innocence of your daughter in Aug 2009? Baez asks if George recalls being paid $20 K for appearance on 48 hours GA: "Mr Baez, I have been nice to you & have tried to answer the questions to the best of my ability. I did everything I could possibly do to bring awareness...to everyone who fell in love with [Caylee]." JB: All of these appearances stopped when allegations of abuse came up? GA: I believe that was done through you sir.
George leans his head down and as he walks away looks at Casey, she ignores him. *this BEAST of a chick is PURE EVIL!*
As they went to recess George asked if he could talk to Ashton and Ashton answered politely that he couldn't. Ashton explained to George he couldn't speak with him in the break while George was on direct examination .George then went over to Cindy and hugged for an extensive period and started crying. Casey was wiping dry tears when they came back from break. Jury wasn't there.
Casey is signing documents given to her by attorneys.
Recalls being asked by Ashton if he molested Casey. Baez tells him penalties of molestation and says George would never admit to it. Casey "cries" and shakes head no. George says he would never hurt her in that way. Baez says "only in that way" Questioning goes back to gas can. Casey stops "crying" JB: Casey has taken those gas cans a number of times to fill car up with gas. GA: Yes. Baez put gas can on witness stand, it's sitting right in front of George. Defense appears to have given Casey documents to sign. GA:Me and my daughter had an argument over the gas cans. Myself, my daughter, God knows the truth. " JB: " anyone else you wanna throw in..a dog maybe?" WOW!
JB: Called police when missing June 24? GA:Yes. JB: Reported stolen? GA: Yes, this and another can. JB: First time reported gas cans stolen? GA: Yes. George is handed a document by Baez. Perry asked Baez to move the gas can because the jury cannot see George. George being confronted with depo where he denied putting tape on gas can. Baez keeps referring to the argument as "allegedly" George tells him that it DID happened. George said it wasn't an argument until Casey slammed cans and told him "Here's your fucking gas cans!" George says tape was not on gas can then.
In deposition George said that tape was not on gas cans the first time cans were taken by LE and that he did not put them there. George recalls that. Ashton called questioning and answering between Baez and George "sparring"
Cross Examination
Ashton asks George about his emotional state and whether he believes if Caylee died in someone else's custody or not. JA: But today you no longer believe your granddaughter died in custody of someone other than your daughter? Sustained. Casey just stared at her father. George never told police Casey murdered Caylee. Ashton asked George about effect when Caylee's remains were found. George got very emotional as he talked about day he learned Caylee's remains were found. George said everyday from July 15 till the day he was told it was Caylee he held out hope she was alive. Perry asked if he needed break. GA as he cries: "No sir, I need to get through this, something inside me needs to get through this" Casey is not crying. Sidebar (6) called after Ashton asks about buying gun for suicide attempt. George didn't want to take a break, said he needed to get through this but a deputy helped him down. George broke down on stand. George left stand and was comforted by an attorney.
Jury left room
Ashton says he doesn't know basis of JB's objection. JB: Has no basis; he knows no gun involved in suicide attempt. Ashton says revealed in suicide note that George got gun with intent to go get answers from Casey's friends, then kill himself. Ashton says note rebuts defense claim George knew. Perry reviewed suicide note to determine admissibility. Ashton says George mentions gun on page four of note. Baez said its hearsay and objects. JA: Statement contains comments of guilt, regret but not particulars alleged by defense. Ashton said letter/note contains NO admissions to molestation of Casey or knowledge of what happened to Caylee. He read the note without jury present. In note, George asks why- why didn't Casey turn to anyone. Baez had a big grin on his face and said Ashton has self serving exception. Baez says George wrote this letter to appear innocent. He dropped papers on defense table. Baez says George took some blood pressure pills and a 6 pack of beer to get attention. Judge Perry:"It looks as though the defense has made Mr. Anthony's state of mind an issue. Someone opened the door and Mr. Ashton is trying to walk through it." JA: "I was glad for them to open that door. Innuendo of George knowledge was made before jury. That's why letter should be admissible." Perry thinks door has been opened. Needs time to contemplate. Ashton says he'll introduce suicide note during rebuttal.
Proffer:Jury not in room
George explains why he bought a gun. George said he was going to force people at gunpoint to tell him what happened to Caylee. Cops wouldn't let him keep it cause Casey was there and it violated probation. Said he still has suicidal feelings even today. Id's suicidal note. Casey glares at him. Ashton says in January 2009 he went to a hotel to take his life. George said yes. He contacted family to say his goodbyes. GA: "I needed at that time to go and be with Caylee..because I believe I failed her. If it weren't for law enforcement, I wouldn't be here today." *George is broken. This is truly heartbreaking.* George says he it took hours to write the note. Baez objects to all the questioning saying it's beyond the scope. *George stares at Baez and shakes his head no* Ashton argues this is direct rebuttal of defense. Perry: Issue of suicide brought out in defense's cross exam. Court permitted line of questioning.
Jury allowed back in.
George reiterates what he said during proffer. He brought gun home and LE immediately confiscated it. Doesn't know why he picked that particular date to commit suicide (Jan. 22, 2009) He said he needed to be with Caylee. Contacted Cindy, Lee, parents, and sister and told them that he was fine. George says he wrote letter to wife Cindy. He said he didn't want to be in this world anymore. He couldn't tell her face to face. Letter is 8 pages long.

Says he doesn't need a break. *Cheney Mason is leaning back and looking directly up at ceiling. I really hope jury is taking notes of Casey's attitude* Says during deposition George and Ashton "sparred" as well. Says he would classify the questioning between himself and Baez "sparring" as well. George knew that he couldn't have firearms in the house and that Casey would go back to jail if gun was found. Casey was almost taken to jail at that moment. GA: That is correct * So what! He wanted her to go back to jail because she is GUILTY!!!* Bought beer when he attempted suicide. Does not remember how much. Said he had different medicines not sure exactly what. Baez minimizing suicide attempt. "beer and blood pressure medication." When body was found on Dec. 11, 2008, did not know what was taken in 1st search warrant GA: Was not at home to see search warrant served, but knows LEO went through entire house. George thinks 70 or 80 items taken from home. GA: "All I can tell you is our home was turned upside down."Said it took days to put back together. Does not know when gas cans were taken.
Apparently, as the Judge was walking to get some lunch, a man started yelling at him saying that the Judge tampers with juries. He then was inside the courthouse handing out pamphlets near jury room. Mark Schmidter arrested for protesting outside the designated free speech zones outside the courthouse. He has nothing to do with the case, but Judge Perry is handling it. His bail is set at $2500 for indirect criminal contempt. . He said he wanted to represent himself. He will have a hearing on July 6th.
*This idiot of a man, now has wasted the courts time on him!*
JB: Dec 20, second search warrant for home? Yes. You were home, got confrontational with officers? GA: Yes.GA says he was asked to step outside. JB: Told Sgt Allen, "Take your fucking minions and get out of my house?" Obj/sustained. JB: State atty issued subpoena for your fingerprints? Probably happened right around that time, George replied. JB:Did you ask D.Casey what he was doing in those woods one month before Caylee found? GA:No, never have. JB:In early Jan 2009, did you feel the walls closing in on you? GA:I don't understand question. JB:Knew you were being investigated? George said he always cooperated with LE, even with Baez. He said he had nothing to hide and Casey shakes head no and swipes her hands over her mouth, as if holding herself.
JB: You called everybody on date of alleged suicide to let them know you were gonna commit suicide? GA:Yes. JB:Called me? GA:Yes. JB:When was next time you were on Fox news? GA:No idea. JB:Within 48 hrs? GA:Don't believe so.

JA: Learn of remains before/after plane? GA: Got call that morning before boarding plane that they'd found small child.George said they were taken to Ritz Carlton; someone had arranged on their behalf. He said they had some time on 5hr flight to talk a little, but not until in car leavng airport could they be alone and show emotion. JA: You and your wife had dinner that night at Ritz Carlton with Mr. Baez? GA: Yes. Objection. Baez asks to approach.-SIDEBAR JA: Cooperated with law enforcement, also with Baez? GA: Yes. JA: With anyone who could help you find Caylee? GA: Yes. JA: Dec 19 remains ID'd? GA: Yes. JA: Anger at LE was day after you got confirmation that Caylee was dead? GA: Yes.

Brandon Sparks-Roy Kronk's Son. Coast Guard
He does drug interventions, search and rescues. At sea 3-4 months at a time. BS: "Roy Kronk is my biological father." JB: Estranged from him? BS: Yes, since I was 8 yrs old. Sparks began speaking with Kronk again on near nightly basis since June 2008 to Feb 2009. JB: Kronk tell you he knew something about this case? BS: Yes. JB: That he knew where the remains were. BS: Yes. JB: Father ever mention he found Caylee's skull? BS: Yes. JB: Prior to Dec 11? BS: Yes
Sparks said it was in Nov, he knows that because of Thanksgiving. *reminder, Kronk found skull in August and called LE then multiple times!* When Kronk told him on Dec 11 he'd found remains, Sparks said asked him why he didn't get them earlier. Baez introduces Sparks' phone records. JB: Hold/held ill will for your father? BS: No sir.

Dr. Sally Kariogh-Grief Expert and Professor at FSU
Asked about education and kept talking and going on about how she got jobs. Casey smiled as Ashton objected about narrative. *She was trying to be entertaining I guess.* She runs down certification/ experience / etc. She is a traumatologist. She says traumatologists interact with first responders, often to help with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder onset.
*some technical troubles due to weather here. At one moment they had audio trouble and it appeared President Obama was testifying! LOL*
This witness is going all over the place. Judge has to tell her to listen and answer only question asked.
She doesn't charge patients. Says she treats people for free. Gets referrals from agencies in community.
Ashton has objected several times saying Karioth is not answering question and giving narrative. Karioth said she was a contributor to the "Chicken Soup" books. *the defense keeps bringing in the clowns!* It was mentioned yesterday in the trial, that she has not interviewed Casey. The defense wants Karioth accepted as expert in Grief and trauma. State objects.
Ashton questions her on journals she has worked on. Ashton asks about articles she's authored...she lists some. JA: What peer-review journals? She names it, says it's online. Witness says book she contributed to for Parents mag was peer reviewed by Barnes & Noble! Ashton reminds her that Barnes & Noble is a publishing company! He also explains to her what Peer Review is. Peer review is a process of self-regulation by a profession or a process of evaluation involving qualified individuals within the relevant field. She said the articles she claimed earlier that were peer reviewed were peer reviewed by people at Health Dept. -Sidebar 10
*Source:River Cruz tells source in the hallway, "I'm irate."*
Ashton requested Dorothy Sims sit down and get comfortable while he questions in this voi dire. Karioth says she has testified 12 times about grief. (civil and criminal cases) Ashton objects, she is still accepted as an expert in fields of grief and trauma and she smiles proudly.
Says that people grieve in different ways. A plethora of differences she says. Sidebar after Ashton objects to her not testifying directly to this case.
Casey is forcing tears as Dorothy Sims asks her to take as a hypothetical a 22 year old mother with a 3 year old, who loves her and is an amazing mother, loses her child. DCS: What would be a typical reaction. -Sidebar as Ashton objects. Casey stops crying.
Sims asks same question. Karioth says she has seen mothers who have lost children stay in bed for long periods of time. She also says she has seen moms clean up room, pack everything up and not speak of it. "too painful to have all these memories."Casey "cries" Hypothetical: Drunk mom has car accident and kills baby- Karioth says she's seen "survivor guilt" or mom continue to keep drinking.
SK:Some mothers will go to grave everyday... Others won't go at all. *Casey looks at her fingernails to check if she can stab some tears out of her eyes.*
Sims is still giving hypothetical situations that is the exact life of Casey from pregnancy to missing Caylee. * Casey appears to be emotional during this testimony. Huge difference from when George testified earlier.*
Sims says assume: tiny woman gets pregnant: hid it for 8 mo: girl's mom is a nurse: unwed: lives with parents - (running down assumptions)How would someone grieve?
SK: "Well that was very complex"SK: 2 ways people grieve: Healthy people make the journey, come out on the other side. When family has conspiracy of silence, don't air linen for other people to see, very likely response to trauma would leave others confused as to understanding it. Karioth says it could be typical to have no discussions on the matter. Karioth says in that description (hypothetical) you need to look at everyone in family.
Sims wants to add to this hypothetical. For 31 days mom goes shopping, to bar, gets tattoo, rents movies...
SK: In this situation, like other young adults, they're reluctant grievers, demonstrate risky behavior with drinking, shopping. She calls a young adult in this hypothetical a " reluctant grievers" Drink too much, not talk about it, retail therapy. Casey is in extreme "tears"
SK: I see often risk taking, repeating things that happened to the person, having a great time, spending money *so shouldn't Casey have drowned herself!?*
Karioth said person may look like they are having a good time, get into trouble, or spend money they don't have.
Sims asked how long this type of behavior may last? Karioth said it could last for years.
*Does this Explain ZANY for all these years!!!!!!????* "Denial is a great tool for as long as you can make yourself believe it" said Karioth.
Cross Examination
JA: Being very very very happy consistent with grief? SK: Yes. There are 3 emotions. Is every state of demeanor between happy and sad consistent with grief? JA: Is promiscuity consistent with grief? SK: Maybe taking it too far. Ashton asks about "interest in sex." Karioth says some patients think it can help with grief. Ashton said :"it doesn't matter what hypothetical I give you, you would say it's consistent with grief!" Casey is angry now! She says anything can happen for grief. Karioth says she was first contacted in end of May beginning of June about this case. SK: I don't know the facts of this case. JA: when were you contacted about this case? SK: I got an email in June. I didn't know there was a trial.
SK: When I got the email, I didn't know who the name was at first. She suggested people in Tallahassee. SK: London carried it not at all (she was living there when contacted via email).
JA: Have you ever worked with people who murdered their children?SK: Yes. Susan Smith trial. ( Susan Smith killed her two children and lied about it. She was convicted and is serving life in prison!) *Good job Ashton!* JA: And that was in context of trying to explain why Susan Smith murdered her kids? SK :Yes. Sidebar.
Karioth says "magical thinking" is when someone convinces themselves of something that isn't true. Ashton starts telling Dr. hypotheticals!
Yes, the same story as Casey! *yes, the jury is hearing it all over again! LOL*
Dr. says that person needs HELP! She calls it her "magical thinking" theory.
Ashton says to imaging the mother killed her child! Sims objects and says no evidence. JA: I disagree
*THAT WAS AMAZING!* Again Casey looked PISSED!
Denial is a coping mechanism for grief and guilt. Sims says the witness has not been tended as an expert in guilt. OVERRULED! Ashton said that if it doesn't involve grief, it's out of witnesses scope. She agrees. Ashton says people can compartmentalize a horrible act. Karioth says people can come up with an almost merry way of telling stories. She described difference between delusion and magical thinking. Karioth says magical thinking is not the same as delusion. Agrees that the bond between a mother and child is hard to break. She is excused after saying "I've seen lots of folks who ask for things that seem exquisitely unusual"
Jury is excused for the day.
Baez says the defense thinks they will rest tomorrow. Judge Perry tells state to have witnesses available tomorrow afternoon (just in case). Perry says closings could happen Saturday. But he says he may give attorneys a little extra time. Burdick asks if things don't wrap up Saturday could closing arguments happen Sunday? Judge says possible. Closing can happen saturday. Deliberations could start Sunday.
AWESOME! HAVE A GREAT EVENING!!!!

Defense is set to finish it's case this week!
Ann Finnell, a Jacksonville attorney who joined Casey's defense team in September 2010 as a death penalty expert to replace Andrea Lyon is in the courtroom. She hasn't been seen since jury selection in Pinellas County. As soon as everyone including Casey arrived, all the attorneys and court reporter moved into Judge Perry's chambers. A happy Casey is wearing a white, collared, button down business-like shirt. At one moment Casey even high-fived Ann Finnell. She is extremely happy to say the least! Reports are that Cindy and George are happy as well.Ann Finnell filed a motion for mistrial and asked for a non death penalty qualified jury.
Perry says on Saturday the defense filed motion for competency. 3 doctors examined Casey and she was found competent to continue! YES!!!!
Motion to determine competency says, "Counsel reasonably believes Ms. Anthony is not competent to aid and assist in her own defense." The motion to determine competency to proceed however is being filed and Perry says it can't be sealed. (doctors reports will be though). Casey is likely not going to take the stand if her defense team was alleging she is incompetent.
I wonder if the jury will be told what happened. If they are told, they will see that the defense is really trying to get rid of these charges. I also wonder if Casey decided to act crazier than normal in order to get her team to believe she is incompetent. HAHA! She can't get through Perry and psychologists!
Yuri Melich
JB:You misspoke in some testimony? YM: Yes, in regard to cell phone records. Was thinking of different set of records for Kronk. Records for Kronk were from June-July 2008 (not til Dec as he'd previously testified). JB: Didn't seek phone records from Aug-Dec 2008, even though he found body? YM: Correct. JB: Kronk lives in St. Cloud? Yes. Bit of distance from where remains found? Yes. JB: Other times you've misspoken to this jury? YM: Not to my knowledge. You're suggesting I intentionally gave wrong info. I didn't. Is there something you want to bring up? Baez brings up why Melich subpoenaed cell phone records of Casey's friends, ex boyfriends, and people she had contact with as well as some computers from some of them. Baez also asked about another woman who claimed to have information about case. She also said she was an informant for George Bush. Baez now pointing out Melich got computer records from others, but not from Kronk. Baez started asking about a certain email and Melich repeatedly asks Baez to see email he is being quizzed about. Baez finally hands it to him. JB: First Dec search at Anthony home, had knowledge of items found at Suburban, including Pooh blanket? YM: Yes. JB: Share anything about investigation with the Anthonys? YM: Don't recall. JB: Normal to share info with people at home of search? YM: Not abnormal to share with victims of homicide, but can't recall sharing specific info that day. Baez is trying to show that Anthonys (I'm guessing specifically George) had inside info about crime scene via Melich's sharing.
Baez asked Melich is he ever searched George or Cindy Anthony's cars with cadaver dogs. He answered no. Baez shows Melich a map to show jury area of remains, distance from Anthony home.At this point, don't know why, Casey smiled. Melich comes off stand at Baez' request so they can use the poster to point out area of remains, Anthony home to jury. JB: Casey arrested July 16 2008? YM: Yes. JB: Out on bond short period from late Aug - Oct? YM: Don't recall dates, but don't dispute that. She was subject to electronic monitoring, house arrest. Baez asked about media trucks; Melich says he doesn't know how many. Basically trying to state that Casey was monitored at all times.
Cross ExaminationMelich said he never received report either George or Cindy's car smelled like a dead body had been in them. Said, Cindy reported Caylee missing and Casey lied about babysitter and all imaginary friends as well. Melich says some of those people who had their phone records subpoenaed was because he was looking for Zanaida Gonzalez.

Bloise looks at same drawing of forensic bay already shown to Melich, Vincent. Bloise said K-9 deployed on only one car in forensic bay.
Cross ExaminationBloise tells Burdick he documented/investigated Casey's car.
Baez, Burdick and George all met up and joking around with each other
*personal note: No further questions means one more question according to Baez*
Deputy Jason Forgey:Dog Handler
Id's drawing that he drew in regards to investigation. Forensic Bay garage and Casey's vehicle as well as another vehicle. JB: Testify there were 2 cars on which you deployed dog? JF: Yes. JB:Unknown to you whose car other was? JF: Yes. Deployed dog on other gar in garage as well, "no real reason" why.
Cross Examination
LDB: Regardless number of cars, you still knew the Sunfire was car in question, correct? Forgey: Yes ma'am.
Dr. Kenneth G. Furton: Chem/bio-chem professor at FIU
Furton is a PHD in analytical chemistry. Dr. Furton focuses on separating and identifying complex chemicals from forensic specimens. He has looked into how canines identify bodies, chemicals given off by remains. First time testifying in trial regarding human decomp. As forensic chemist, over 2 dozen times.
Ashton, Baez agree Furton is qualified in human decomposition, but only as it pertains to odor analysis. Furton reviewed reports by Oakridge Nat. Lab. Baez says the are taking Furton out of order because of his schedule. JB:Is there unique signature of compounds for decomp? KF: My expert opinion is no scientifically valid instrument for IDing decomp. Baez asks to use Furton's PowerPoint as demonstrative aid (not as evidence). *More science stuff* Diagram of gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS). Furton explains its use in this application. The GCMS separates and IDs chemical compounds. In mass spectrum, the molecule breakdown helps identify. Furton says he uses known compounds from a company to test on machine, compare to results in testing. Furton says graph shows chemicals living bodies give off, each person having a unique "bar code" of chemicals. Furton steps down to help explain with large poster how chemicals are arranged in groupings of acids/alcohols/etc.
KF: Idea is that when trying to locate remains, what are chemicals that are given off by deceased. Chart is summary.Apparently Velveeta has many same chemical compounds found in human decomp. Furton says chloroform is everywhere, common in low quantities. Can be high in certain products like bleach. Objection/sidebar
Furton says chloroform seen in many cleaning components, even in drinking water.
Below is a video of the reason why we are all intrigued by this case. This is the reason why we are all here. To see Justice for Caylee. Let's not forget that:
http://www.wftv.com/video/18682358/index.html
Legal matters after recess and before Jury enters: Judge doesn't want Furton to take stand and just regurgitate Vass' study - that's hearsay. Judge won't require proffer but cautions def that if it comes out on cross that based on hearsay, testimony can be stricken.Baez performed a proffer anyway in order not to have any more delays. A proffer is a testimonial without jury present.
Judge Perry is also granting reimbursement of $6850 for Defense psychiatrist William Weitz. No longer defense witness.
Jury returns
JB: You were explaining what types of products chloroform can be found in. KF: Most common bleach; butter, oils, cheese. JB:After looking at 5 compounds Vass found in this case, do you have an opinion if they are makeup of human decomp? KF: Yes I do. Those 5 compounds not unique to human decomp; some are in household products, decomposing organic matter, trash.
Cross ExaminationAshton shows spare tire cover to Dr. Furton. JA: See any bleach stains?KF: None that I can see. Baez desperately objecting, trying to keep that from coming near Furton. JA: If bleach spilled on dark surface, would it reflect some evidence of bleach being spilled on it? KF: If directly on carpet. JA: Deliberate mixing of chloroform & giving to child vs. coincidental creation of chloroform, you didn't analyze that? KF:Correct.
JA: Great deal of difference between human and animal decomp. KF: Yes. Furton agrees only Stratheropoulos & Vass looked at whole-body decomp. Furton's student took odors from parts of decomposing human bodies. JA:Studies that looked at whole-body found more compounds than studies that looked at only parts? KF: No, many in all studies.
*personal note Linda Drane Burdick's mom is in the courtroom*
Furton said Vass' study/ experiment is more comprehensive then others. Also said that Vass did not run standards to see mass spectrum. One woul normally run standards. KF: Vass' study is still ongoing research. "There's add'l work that really needs to be done." JA: So unless you discredit studies, and you don't, they could come from decomp? KF: I am discrediting. JA: You think Vass did not find chloroform/chloride? KF: Think he saw them based on mass spectrum. Ashton reads from Furton's deposition Saturday. Ashton asked if a decomposing body in trunk explain findings- Furton said possibly. Ashton says Furton's testimony is changing today compared to Saturday's depo. Furton agrees something was decomposing in trunk of car. JA: No meat in salami package. Not enough to create odor detectable by methods used. KF: Unlikely. JA: And odor wouldn't permeate entire trunk and produce levels found. KF: By itself, not likely to produce substantial odor. JA: Velveeta -- how much is milk product? KF: Don't know, but main ingredient is milk, milk fat, not much cheese. Ashton shows actual Velveeta box to Dr. Furton. Dr. says it appears no product at all in it. Says as is now, wouldn't produce substantial odor. This is entertaining. Ashton shows Furton individual pieces of trash from trunk and asking if it would smell like decomp. Dr. Furton says if garbage was wet and had some decomposing matters it would. *Baez looks defeated at this point. Casey was talking to him and he looked like he just wanted her to shut it! Baez scratched his head and looked at his hand to see what he produced from his scalp!*
Jury actually held garbage with gloves and sniffed it! Furton says he doesn't know enough of background materials. They could be contributors not saying they were the source.
ReDirect
Never testified there was a black stain on the carpet. JB: In your opinion would chemicals from body buried for year assist you in evaluating evidence in this case? KF: Limited use. Chemicals from bodies buried underground show similarities, but also differences as well from those not buried.
*Ashton looks bored*
Baez shows garbage photo (side by side, as found vs. drying room). JB: See differences? KF:Appears removed, spread out. JB: You dont know if prior to put in dry room, food items might've been thrown away? KF: I'm not aware of that. JB: Would you say this trash appears pretty clean? KF: Yes. JB:Not exactly what you'd see in trash of 3 college students? Obj/sustained. *garbage looks clean? Really Baez!?* Apparently Baez wants to imply that LE cleaned out the garbage!
Jose Baez now showing Dr. Furton chewing tobacco spit on edge of can from garbage in trunk. Says person who spit out tobacco was not a very good shot. Several jurors laugh.
*personal note : When Baez mentions "no more questions" that usually means one more question.*
ReCross
JA: Strongest smell would be closest to source? KF: Yes, from highest concentration And when source is moved, highest concentration of odor goes with it? KF:Depends. JA: If in bag, then when bag gone, odor goes? KF: If bag had leak, odor would remain, but if bag intact and moved, majority of odor would go w/bag. JA: Anyone ever said that bag had strong offensive odor similar to decomp? Objection/sustained. Rephrases. KF says no reports indicate any odor from that bag.
Sgt. John Allen:OCSO
This is the first we've seen of Ann Finnell at trial. Hasn't been part of it since jury selection. She gives several items of evidence to Allen. The package contains two video recordings. The videos were recorded by a private investigator, James Hoover.
Cross Examination:
LDB: James Hoover was affiliated with Dominic Casey (another investigator who worked with Baez)? JA: Yes. Knew him from start of case to be invest with Baez? LDB is asking Allen about relationship between Hoover and PI Dominic Casey and the relationship they had with these men. LDB: Dominic Casey would email John Allen with locations for a "live" Caylee Anthony. JA: Hoover tried to sell the videos to the National Enquirer. Allen says Dominic Casey first worked for defense and then Anthony family. It appears LDB is trying to discredit D. Casey and Hoover.
ReDirect:
AF: After Oct 2008, Dominic Casey began working with Anthony's? He believes so, says that based on what DC told him.
James Hoover:Licensed Private Investigator
Hoover says he is a licensed private investigator, but got involved as a private citizen at first. Hoover says he worked with Dominic Casey. James Hoover said he tried to keep harassment buffer in front of house, like a bodyguard. JH: Only followed up 1 tip with him (Dominic Casey), Nov 15 2008. JB: Tell us what you did. JH: Met DC at office at 8:15 that morning; they went to Suburban Dr. They'd been scheduled to do security at G&C meet/greet. JB: Was Caylee supposed to be standing off Suburban Dr? JH: No, in a wooded area and deceased. JB:Videotaped it? JH:Most of it.
Link to video:http://www.wesh.com/video/20728364/detail.html
Video is 11:33 sec. 4 min. in they get to go inside the woods.
You see Dominic Casey (DC) cut through trash bags, move some dirt with a little shovel.
Hoover said he reviewed first 20 seconds or so, seemed to be the tape he made. Baez moves into evidence.
Video was filmed approx. 1 month before body was found. Hoover says Casey knew he was taping him.
Defense wants to show this area had no remains in Nov '08 and were PLACED there later when Casey was in jail. This tape is about 50-75 yards from where Caylee was found. I've been there.
As jury watched video, Hoover was describing how far they went into the woods. Video tape shows Dominic Casey, going into the wooded area on Suburban drive. Hoover says Dominic Casey was looking for Caylee's remains. That's why he was cutting open black plastic bags.
Hoover says Dominic Casey was looking for Caylee's remains. That's why he was cutting open black plastic bags.
Hoover says Dominic Casey found a small blanket but not sure what kind of blanket. Video was made Nov. 16, 2008.
Hoover was shown a photograph of an overhead view of Suburban Drive/Hopespring Drive and was asked to ID on picture where they parked and searched.Casey watches the video intently.
JB: Did you report to George and Cindy what you did/didn't find? JH: No sir, not at time. Baez shows him another aerial map.
Hoover says it was suggested by a famous bounty hunter the video could be worth something. Hoover says he would have given the money to Dominic Casey and the Anthony's because he didn't need it.
Hoover says he never tried to negotiate a price for the video. He says it was never for sale. He was told the video was worth $200,000. JB:Met with LE and didn't give them this video, but another one purporting to be this one? JH: Gave 2, 3 videos, thought 1 taped over
Cross Examination
LDB: You were trying to hold out for highest bidder on video, correct? JH:Wrong. Hoover says he thought the video of DC in the woods was taped over (Xmas parade) he says when found, he called attorney, handed video over. LDB: Turned over after you tried to get LE to talk to some strange woman on Suburban Dr? JH: She followed me to LE. LDB: Same day you turned over worthless videos to LE? JH:Yes. LDB: Was 2-3 wks later you found tape of woods? JH:Yes.
JH tells LDB: "Listen carefully." Explains he thought tape he gave LE was one from woods that was taped over. LDB:To this day, don't know exactly where Caylee skull/remains located, correct? JH: No. LDB: See a red Disney bag? JH:No.
LDB:Didnt see any water in woods? JH: Second day I did. LDB: How far in? JH:About 15 ft or so into woods. Wore clothes more suited 2nd day.
ReDirect
JB: I had nothing to do w/this video; you gave to LE? JH:Yes.
Dominic Casey: Licensed PI
He says some overlap in working for defense and George and Cindy. Followed up on tips for them, security work, investigating. Protesters started congregating at Anthony home around 1st week of Sept, best of his recall. AF:Until when, end of Oct? DC:Correct. Dominic Casey says he would sit at gas station for 30 min or longer after leaving Anthony home to make sure protesters didn't come back. Dominic now looking at image of suburban drive, drawing an "A" where he used to park and look for unruly protesters. He says he left his car windows down typically, never smelled any bad smells.
DC says he asked Cindy to send Luke Phillips something of Caylee's. Cindy sent her a teddy bear. Defense asked Dominic about package he received for Cindy Anthony. It had the teddy bear inside. DC: Man who sent the teddy bear had contacted Anthonys, offered to help. Represented/works with psychics.
Dominic says James Hoover was a volunteer who showed up and offered security to Anthony's a few days after protesters showed up. Dominic says he went to Suburban Dr with Hoover. They were not coworkers, Dominic says. DC says he was on the phone with Jeanette Lucas the day at Suburban Dr. He says she was a psychic. Dominic is using telestrator to show where he searched with Hoover. Dominic say he went to Suburban Dr after talking to a psychic. He was looking for Caylee there. Dominic says he walked away from Hoover (who was in car) so Hoover couldn't hear and then he called Lucas. Dominic says he went about 25 ft into woods. When he emerged he saw Hoover videotaping and he was upset.
Says that there was water (2-3) inches about 20ft in from the curb. He was specifically looking for 3 white paver stones. Was not looking for garbage bags but saw a "tremendous" amount of garbage bags. When testifying about what the psychic told him to do, he caught himself and said "oh, I can't tell you anything [hearsay]. So what do I do?" Courtroom laughed.
Dominic says he went to a vacant house after leaving the woods. Implies psychic told him to go there. AF: Nov 16, go back to Suburban? DC: Yes. AF: Why? DC:To prove a psychic wrong. AF:Take JH with you? DC: Yes. Telestrates where parked on 16th.
He brought a probe to poke soft, silty sand, move leaves. Didn't want to reach in w/bare hand/snakes.
He went a third time around the 18th or 19th. This time Hoover was not with him. Went a third time for "relief". (Defense claimed that nobody would ever go into that area for "relief" as Kronk did) He telestrated the path where he walked. AF:What were you looking for as walking? DC:Wasn't looking for anything. Was just looking around. AF: On any visits, see or handle any evidence related to this case in any way? DC:Not to my knowledge. AF:See any bags/debris that appeared to contain human remains? DC: No.
Cross Examination
FG: Job was to investigate circumstances of Caylee's disappearance? DC:Yes. Sidebar
FG: Fair to say even after you went to work for George and Cindy, had contact with Baez? DC:Yes. FG: First time you went to Suburban was b/c of psychic? DC:Yes. FG:Cindy pretty desperate to find out what happened by that time? How would you describe Cindy's demeanor and mood during that time? DC:Traumatized, distraught, missing granddaughter. FG:And George similarly traumatized, distraught? FG:Absolutely. FG:You went into woods to help them, to find Caylee if there? DC said he wouldn't quite say that, that he went b/c of following up on psychic tip. State asked Dominic to mark on another photo where he and Hoover parked in Suburban Drive on the first trip. FG:Came out same way you went in? DC: Yes. Asks to mark how far he went in. DC says would be very inaccurate, can estimate feet. FG: Remember ever saying you went 30-40, even poss 50 ft into woods? DC says that's quite possible. He said he saw numerous trash bags like people throw yard trash. He cut a few open. And found a tore up bath mat. Did not see a red Disney bag. FG: Water there, 2-3" deep? DC:If you walked in about 20-25 ft, be standing in water approx ankle-deep; elevation drops from street. I don't want to give you the impression that it was a river.
*personal note:this old man is cutesy....that is all :) *
He is shown another picture and marking where they parked the second visit they went to Suburban Drive.
Reporter Adam Longo from CFNEWS13 "I interviewed Dominic Casey in 2009. He told me he was on phone with his daughter, not a psychic when searching woods"
*Casey looks PISSED as this witness seems extremely confused and even tells the judge he is confused! Baez is trying not to laugh*
DC: Think I may be getting mixed up here. Spoke w/Lucas from Suburban Dr. We're talking about same thing? FG: Yes. DC says he had a garden trowel. FG had said "little shovel," and DC wanted to clarify it wasn't a shovel. Dominic Casey has seemed flustered, confused at times. He's having issues hearing. DC says he learned for the first time today that there was audio on the tape. He didn't know that until today. DC says he told Hoover he could tape but without the audio. FG:Aware Hoover was taping? DC:That he was "hazing?" FG:No, that he was taping. DC: I need to clarify. Dominic is now looking again at a photo of the woods he previously marked, showing where he entered.
ReDirect
DC says he is giving approximate differences because he didn't have a tape measure and it was 3 yrs ago. Dominic says he was questioned by state attorney's office about his searches. Marked a map for them in March. Asking when he spoke to LE if he was asked to draw on a map to show locations. He answers not to his knowledge.
*personal note----this guy's testimony was HYSTERICAL and quite entertaining!!!. I only wish I could have a clip for those who don't have the access to see this*
Have a good evening!
